Sebastiano Varchione first had a taste of the bakery life in the southern region of Italy where the dough for daily loaves were hand kneaded with fresh ingredient’s picked from the fields of Napoli. Sebastiano then moved to the UK in the 1960’s and gained experience within the bakery industry, with his passion for bread he then decided to open his own bakery in 1984 under the famous Kings Cross arches, supported by his wife Angela and brother in law Giuseppe IL FORNAIO began baking.
